For Montreal's 375th anniversary, its local bike sharing company, Bixi, launched a competition to re-adorn the bikes' backplates - normally placeholders for its sponsors - with pieces of art designed by the community.
To that end, I inspired myself from one of the most grueling climbs at the center of the city (especially on a Bixi), Mont Royal hill, and used the cross that stands atop it as a visual landmark.
The work was selected to be featured on one of the bikes for the year and was showcased on their site ^_^.
